Project Description
PNR RailWorks Signals & Communications division upgraded signals for the Edmonton, Alberta, light rail transit (LRT) system, giving the 30-year-old Northeast LRT line a new electronic system.
Project Scope
Crews replaced the aging relay logic signal system with updated, solid-state electron controls. The $7.5 million project included re-cabling the entire system, installing new signals, installing new track appliances, and completely rebuilding five signal control rooms while maintaining transit systems operations.
