PNR RailWorks Signals & Communications Division is constructing a new signal room and other enhancements for the City of Calgary’s LRT on its 7th Avenue Line.
The Calgary LRT 7th Avenue Line diverges into the Northwest and West lines. In this $1.3 million project, PNR RailWorks is constructing a new signal room to replace the existing relay logic system. The room will feature new equipment controlled with GE ElectroLogIXS VLC vital and non vital microprocessors. PNR RailWorks’ work includes running new wire and cable into existing switch machines and track circuit connections; installing GE control panels, two new pedestrian warning flashing lights and six new wayside signals. Crews will test of all new systems before removing redundant equipment.
