Description
CN Railway commissioned this new track facility to handle rail cars from an industrial customer near its secondary mainline north of Edmonton, Alberta. CN Railway provided the property and design and secured PNR RailWorks to construct the new rail spur and gravel depot.

Scope
PNR RailWorks constructed 13,270 track feet of new lead and yard tracks, installed 10 turnouts and ballast, and surfaced the track on the new rail spur.

Unique features
At the request of its client CN Railway, PNR RailWorks constructed the new rail spur in phases to allow for immediate use once each phase was completed. This approach created some construction challenges, which were minimized for all parties through close coordination with CNR engineers. The project was executed in a tight time frame due to thorough planning and coordination with the client.
